A Reason to Exist

My heart never knew happiness until I found you,
True elation is now soul-felt...

When everything you love has fallen through the crack of your hand,
It makes an imprint in your heart, like feet in sand...

I’ve been hurt many times in my life,
But somehow, I know it’s different with you...

Walking through a world filled with pain,
It’s hard to hold my head high without feeling shame...

Today was like many others,
So many have died...

I sit with such reticence and wait for my time,
I step out on faith only to be unsure...

You’re the line between love and hate,
Such an atrocity and lovely at the same time...

No one can comprehend my mentality,
It’s on another level next to spirituality...

I’m dead now, there’s no turning back,
Faithful friendships were something that I always lacked...

Enveloped in pain, in thoughts of what could have been,
I've lost myself, caught in a maze, trapped by sin.

Lights out, blinds closed, I sit in my dark room,
Eyes red, can’t breathe, my hearts filled with doom...

In my past life we were perfect together
Our love flowed freely from vein to vein

Almost a year you took care of me,
I was grateful though you couldn’t see...

I remember a time when I was insensible,
Constantly speaking with such innuendo...

I once floated away,
Just as the steam floats away...

I’d give up tomorrow, just to have you for today,
Knowing that you’ll hold me tight and make everything okay...

Pain is ever lasting
Depression's around every corner.

You’re right here in my arms where you should stay,
Forever holding you here is what I want if I may...
